IELTS General Training
Your English language proficiency is assessed on the IELTS GT test in a very real-world, everyday setting. It is appropriate for those who desire to continue their education in high school or a program of technical training. Candidates who intend to immigrate to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the UK must take it.
IELTS General Training test format
The test is divided into four sections: speaking, writing, listening and reading.
The assessments for listening, reading, and writing are taken on the same day, sequentially, without breaks. Any day up to a week before or after the exam date may be used for the Speaking test. You can reserve a time slot online for the Speaking test at your favorite time and date. If you don't select a time slot within the allotted window, one will be automatically assigned to you.
IELTS Listening test (30 minutes)
You must first listen to the four recordings before responding to the questions. The test lasts 30 minutes and features recordings of native English speakers.
IELTS Reading test (60 minutes)
You must respond to 40 questions on the IELTS Reading test, which is developed to evaluate a variety of reading abilities. You would have to read for the gist, main points, specifics, logical justifications, skimming, and determining the attitudes, opinions, and goals of the authors.
IELTS Writing test (60 minutes)
You must do two tasks for the IELTS writing test, which is divided into general interest subjects dependent on the module you are taking.
IELTS Speaking Test (11-14 minutes)
Your spoken English abilities are evaluated on the IELTS Speaking test. The test is divided into three sections and is recorded.
